Currently mobile apps have to be made specifically for each type of mobile phone. An app for an iPhone won't work on an Android or a Blackberry. We had this problem with the whole "Mac vs PC" debate. Now a lot of the apps we use on our computers run in the web browser (like Gmail, Facebook and twitter). It doesn't matter what kind of computer you have as long as you're on the web. There's no reason we can't have the same with mobile. I've been working for the last 9 months to make this a reality and it's almost ready (see the video for an actual demonstration!). Since this is such an early stage of the business I would use the grant money to pay for legal costs, marketing and with the remaining, infrastructure.
However, that is not the primary reason for me to apply for this grant. This project is too big for me alone. It needs to grow and because we're at a critical juncture where many developers are feeling the pain of the current situation someone is going to solve this problem soon. The validation of my peers and the MyEntre community should go far in helping me get the attention of the tech industry.
