Blog ImagePerhaps you’ve read about the need to blog, but haven’t started yet. Or maybe you do a little blogging, but are pretty sure you may be the only one reading it. Josh Fleming will put you through his Boot Camp on the importance of social media, why to blog, how to blog, and why he is such a fan of “Top Gun”. Josh will share tactics on how to grow your readership to ensure it isn’t just you and your parents reading what you have to say. He’ll also share insights on how to keep your blog looking lively and fresh.

According to his Twitter bio, Josh is a self-proclaimed “advocate for social media and interactive goodness for all”. As the Interactive Marketing Director for Lessing-Flynn Advertising, a 15-person marketing communications firm headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, Josh is responsible for web design/development, social media marketing, search engine optimization, online advertising, web analytics and other interactive services for the agency’s clients.

Josh has worked in interactive marketing for over a decade, serving as Director of Business Development for Dice.com the nation’s leading online job board for technology professionals. While at Dice, Josh increased site traffic from 1M to 2M monthly visitors and developed a site advertising program that continues to generate seven figures annually. Prior to Lessing-Flynn, Josh served as Interactive Director at The Integer Group, a TBWA/Omnicom company and Iowa’s largest ad agency where he managed digital strategy, social media and promotions for large national retail brands.

Josh is known in the social media space as “AdMavericks” his twitter handle and the name for Lessing’Flynn’s award winning blog, AdMavericks.com. Josh’s knowledge of social media and interactive has led to speaking appearances at Drake University, FEMA, NAMA and Highlight Midwest.

Josh is a board member of Prevent Blindness Iowa, and is a member of Technology Association of Iowa, Des Moines Social Media Club and Central Iowa Bloggers. He has also spent time at Gannett, Pulitzer and Tribune Publishing and is a graduated of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in English.
